Þórsmörk

Þórsmörk (meaning Thor’s Forest) is an iconic place in the Icelandic hinterland. There are several ways to get here. The easiest one at first glance is to drive along the F249 road, which starts at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You have to cross several rivers on this route and even those
The other option is to walk the route known as Fimmvörðuháls, which leads from Skógar. This 25-kilometre route with an elevation gain of 1400 metres takes you between the Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers. It is usually walked in two days, but the fit ones can do it in one long day.
The third option is the multi-day Laugavegur trek from Landmannalaugar, which is 60 kilometres long and probably won’t be completed in less than three days.
