Jökulsárlón

Jökulsárlón (the Glacier Lagoon) is the ultimate destination in Iceland and one can almost say who did not visited Glacier Lagoon Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon was not in Iceland. This lagoon is a 14 square kilometers big lake (and the area gets bigger every year) full of floating icebergs splitting from the Vatnajökull glacier. After melting to small pieces, floats the icebergs through the waters of the river Jokulsá to the waters of the Atlantic (and some of the floes makes it back ashore on the Diamond beach). All this creates stunning picturesque scenery everyone wants to witness.

If you are not fully satisfied with standard view, you can have a ride in between the icebergs on amphibian boat or for the more adventurous natures on paddle boards. From there you definitely have a different perspective.

In the bistro/infocentrum nearby, you can not only get some information about the place, you can buy there something small to eat or drink. And use free Wi-Fi.

And actually, here you can witness the creation of the fjord!

Please take into consideration that you are in Vatnajökull National park area!
